Hanbury Relocates Richmond Office; Sarah Rosenblatt Named Office Leader
Hanbury will relocate its Richmond office later this spring to a new space at 1623 W. Main Street, supporting the continued growth of the local team and its expanding role within the firm. The transition coincides with the appointment of Sarah Rosenblatt as Richmond Office Leader, working alongside Associate Principals Rick Fischl and Natsumi Oba.
“The growth of the office over the past few years has really come from the team. We’ve become closer, more collaborative, and more involved in shaping the work we pursue,” Rosenblatt said. “Stepping into this role feels like a natural continuation of that momentum, especially as we prepare for the move.”

Over the past several years, the Richmond office has grown steadily in both size and project diversity, supporting a broad mix of work across higher education, civic, and institutional sectors. Recent projects include the Karsh Institute of Democracy at the University of Virginia, the VCU School of Dentistry, and the 3200 W. Moore Street mixed-use development.
Strategic hires have broadened the office's expertise and strengthened its ability to support projects locally while contributing to work across the firm. These additions include Principals Mitch Crowder and Patrick Gegen, whose experience in civic and community-focused work, and Gegen’s background in interiors, have helped expand the office’s reach within the region’s higher education and institutional markets.
Hanbury has maintained a presence in downtown Richmond since opening its office on Broad Street in 2022, and preserving its connection to the city’s arts community was a key priority in the search for a new space. The new location will provide expanded space for project work, collaboration, and client engagement, while supporting exhibitions and gatherings that bring together Richmond’s creative and professional communities.
