Lilly Concord Receives ISPE FOYA Award

Eli Lilly and Company’s Lilly Concord manufacturing campus was formally recognized at the 2026 ISPE Facility of the Year Awards celebration on October 18 in Washington, D.C. Held during the organization’s Annual Meeting & Expo, the ceremony honored the category winners announced earlier this year, including Lilly Concord for Operations – Project Execution.

Located on a 415-acre site in Concord, North Carolina, the fully paperless, automated pharmaceutical manufacturing campus progressed from groundbreaking in June 2022 to U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval in December 2024.

The 30-month delivery drew on validated design platforms from Lilly’s Research Triangle Park campus. A Cold Dark Shell approach allowed interior fit-out to advance alongside completion of the building envelope, while modular construction supported delivery of a 14,000-square-foot central utility plant assembled from 25 pretested modules. Digital twin technology enabled more than 250 days of virtual testing before equipment arrived on site.
