McNutt Dining Renovation +Addition

At Indiana University, McNutt Dining Hall transforms into a culinary mosaic, blending diverse dining options with academic life at the heart of campus.

In the heart of Indiana University, nestled between the C-shaped McNutt Residence halls, stands the newly reimagined McNutt Dining Hall. This modern culinary hub not only serves as the gastronomic center for students but also uniquely intertwines with the Kelley School of Business, residence life, and staff apartments. The ground and first floors are dedicated primarily to dining, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere, while the second and third floors house additional functions.

McNutt Dining Hall features eleven distinct Micro-Restaurants and a cafe, each offering a diverse palette of food choices. Embracing the open kitchen concept, these eateries provide an immersive and interactive dining experience.

The design thoughtfully leverages the courtyards formed by the adjacent housing, allowing for terraced outdoor seating that spills out from the dining areas on both the north and south sides, offering students an al fresco dining experience.

In a concurrent development, the Walnut Grove Housing project, situated to the west of the McNutt complex, further elevates the campus landscape. This addition not only complements the McNutt Dining Hall but also introduces a verdant pedestrian promenade. This new walkway stretches from the arboretum to the bustling new entrance of the dining hall, and onwards to the east, weaving a green thread through the heart of the campus.
